Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HabitRise collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Who We Are

HabitRise is a habit tracking and task motivation app. References to "HabitRise," "we," "us," or "our" mean the operator of the HabitRise app and website.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information reasonably needed to operate, improve, and support HabitRise. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

  • Habit and task information: routines, goals, completion status, streaks, preferences, and reminder settings you create in the app.
  • App usage and diagnostics: device type, operating system version, app version, performance data, crash logs, and general feature usage.
  • Purchase status: subscription or entitlement information provided by Apple and RevenueCat, such as whether a subscription is active, expired, or in a trial period.
  • Support information: information you choose to send when contacting us, such as your email address and message content.

3. Payments and Billing

Payments, subscriptions, free trials, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled through the Apple App Store. HabitRise does not directly collect, process, or store your credit card number, debit card number, bank account details, or other full payment credentials.

We use RevenueCat to help manage in-app purchase entitlements and subscription status. RevenueCat may process purchase identifiers, app user identifiers, transaction metadata, and related subscription status information so the app can unlock paid features correctly.

4. Push Notifications

HabitRise may use push notifications for reminders, task completion motivation, streak updates, and app-related messages. You can enable or disable notifications through your device settings. If notifications are enabled, Apple and our notification service providers may process device tokens or similar technical identifiers to deliver them.

5. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide habit tracking, reminders, completion history, and motivation features.
  • Verify purchases, subscriptions, trials, and premium access.
  • Improve app reliability, performance, design, and user experience.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate service-related information.
  • Protect against misuse, fraud, security incidents, and technical issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal information to perform our contract with you, based on our legitimate interests in operating and improving HabitRise, with your consent when required, and to comply with legal obligations.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate HabitRise, including app hosting, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, customer support, and subscription management through RevenueCat.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

8. Analytics and Diagnostics

We may use analytics and crash reporting tools to understand app performance, diagnose issues, and improve features. These tools may collect technical information such as app version, device model, operating system, session events, and crash details. We aim to use this information in a limited and privacy-conscious way.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide HabitRise, maintain purchase records, support users, improve the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason we hold it.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You may be able to access, update, export, or delete certain information through the app. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings and subscription settings through your Apple ID/App Store account.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or withdrawal of consent. To make a request, contact support@habitrise.app. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

11. Children's Privacy

HabitRise is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. International Users

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have privacy laws different from your own. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as updating the effective date, posting the revised policy, or providing in-app notice where appropriate.
